| Scholarship Description |
On Sunday, May 18, 2008, the YWCA will host the Young LeaderLuncheon. Modeled after the YWCA’s signature event, the Young LeaderLuncheon honors young women for their leadership, their achievements, their excellence as role models, and their contributions to the community.
We know that young leaders have many faces, backgrounds and lifestyles. A strong leader may not necessarily be a straight-A student or an all-star leader. We strive to identify young women who may not have otherwise received special recognition for their passions or accomplishments.
This is a youth-driven project -- members of the Youth Advisory Board are responsible for planning the event, soliciting nominations, selecting honorees and raising money to support the scholarship fund.
All honorees receive a scholarship award, supported by the YWCA LeaderLuncheon Academy. |
