* Two-year college
* Four-year college

Designated institutions:

* Approved New York colleges and universities.

Qualifications Applicant must demonstrate:

* Proof of eligibility

Other application requirements:

* FAFSA, Express TAP Application

Additional information:

* Must be child, spouse, or financial dependent of persons who died or became severely and permanently disabled due to the September 11th attacks or rescue and recovery operation
* Survivors of the attack who are severely and permanently disabled as a result of injuries sustained during the attacks or rescue and recovery operation are also eligible
* At public colleges and universities (CUNY or SUNY), award covers actual tuition and mandatory educational fees; actual room and board for living on campus (or an allowance for commuters); and allowances for books, supplies and transportation
* At private institutions, award amount equals SUNY four-year college tuition and fees and allowances for room and board, books, supplies and transportation
* New York State resident family members who were enrolled in undergraduate programs at U.S
* colleges or universities outside of New York State on September 11, 2001, are also eligible
